This pump is an excellent buy. Fully compatible with the Century (formerly AO Smith) Centurion motor I replaced it with. It was very simple to install and seems to be really well-made. Looing forward to it having a long-life.

I used this motor to replace a 1.5HP motor on a Pentair Whisperflo pool pump about 4 weeks ago. I wired it as a 240V (vs the optional 120V). It's working great so far. The "service factor" for this motor is lower (1.1 vs 1.4) than the original Pentair unit so time will tell if the price was "too good to be true", but so far I can't tell any difference. Price was excellent and delivery was amazingly fast. A gripe is the space for wiring connections is tight on this motor making an in-place replacement a little more difficult. I do wish you could grip the motor shaft to tighten the pump impeller without removing the end cover but that's no deal breaker. I liked this motor so much I ordered a 2nd to have on hand as a spare.

Quoted $2800 by our pool guy to change out dead pool pump. The pump itself wasn’t dead, just the motor. So for $130 shipped I had it fixed in 30 minutes! Motor has been running for 7 hours a day on the pool pump/filter for 3 months now no issues!

The motor is direct replacement for Century 1.5hp 56y frame used on Hayward pool pumps. Very easy bolt together project. A few reviewers complained about wiring connections but while rather tight it was easy enough by using spade connectors on my wiring. Some also complained the motor is noisy but I think those people are hearing more pump noise than motor noise. The sound from motor is normal electric motor hum, the bearing are relatively quiet. All said this motor is a good value

My old motor when up 4x the amounti bought for 6 years ago. I got this motor for what the old one cost. Fit perfectly easy to connect. Runs nice amd pretty good as far as noise is concerned.
