I have been looking for a battery powered belt sander for a while and when I came across this unit that uses my existing batteries it was a no brainer to purchase. It’s as big as my plug in so no issues there and being able to use my Makita batteries is a huge plus.

This was bought to replace my 30+ year old Makita that is a 3x21. It still works well but I wanted a 4x24 and didn’t want to spend $450. I was pleasantly surprised by this belt sander. For the price point it is well enough made. There was one cross threaded screw holding the belt plate on that I needed to fix but other than that it seems sturdy enough. The first job I had for it was sanding 1000 sq’ of fir deck boards I milled for my new deck and it handled the job well enough with once drawback. The dust collection is near worthless. Might be better if you rig a vac to it but all that decking with 80 grit belts and I didn’t have to empty the bag once… good thing I was outside. This is a $135 belt sander. You’re not buying a festool or even dewalt so if you go into it with that in mind you’ll be happy. If I had paid those prices and received this performance the review would be different. Will I get 30+ years of service free life from it? Maybe, but I don’t think I have that left so it should be fine lol.

I had many issues with that sander, first I have to say it works quite fine for sanding, but dont forget is very heavy,,,, first the dust collector is zero,, even with the shop vac attached to the exhaust tube, the sawdust goes everywhere but in the shop vac and the sawdust got packed solid around and inside the belt housing,,, second issue,, it doesnt maintain the speed you select,, it always goes to the max speed after 4-5 seconds of working, always,,,,and after few hours of working the lever you use to release the belt tension,, that lever is spring loaded for the lever to stay in the close position and away from the working area and that spring for some reason broke free and got lost with the sawdust. I went back to the company with all these issues and the finally reimbursed me,, thanks to them
