I got one at a great price and as price fell eventually bought 7. A complete steal,I think they were probably seconds but not a problem.i ended up with more than enough equipment to to make many manipulations. Around 500e for 21 boxes including frames and plastic foundation. The foundation alone is more than that on a BIG Chinese website I used to use but has become extortionate.

I found this setup to be well made. It takes some time to assemble all 40 frames and foundation but that is to be expected. I used an air nailer on the corners, but it seemed to be a tight fit without me doing that. The entire setup is coated with wax which means you can’t really paint the outside. I’ll see how they fare this year. Maybe have to sand and paint them for next year if they start to weather. As far as the observation port, if you plan on using it , you definitely need to drill another whole with a screw on both the long sides of the clear plastic. That is a must! It will start to bow in the middle and bees will be be on both sides of it. And of course, in your haste to put the cover back as the bees attack you, the handle or one of the levers will fall off. It has happened to me twice. Also, the wax on the foundation is a very fine spray. It may or may not be enough to encourage them to start drawing comb. I can’t say about that, as I had some wax and applied a liberal amount to them just to be on the safe side. All said, I think it’s a good price for what you get. Especially compared to what you pay at a beekeeping supplier.

Some cut weren't straight, I had to detail finish them. I love the window feature. The assemble was well instructed, not everyone will find easy to assemble. But overall for the price ,its a good hive

Great product for the price. Easy to assemble and good quality.

Very happy with my purchase! They shipped quickly and came as expected. The only minor inconvenience was a couple of the frame pieces were not grooved all the way through and a couple of the cedar boards were slightly cracked. Cedar is soft so it happens but just offering that info up.

Beautiful and natural hive. Would give 5/5 but all the medium box foundations were either too small or the frames were badly made. They did not fit but customer service provided little cashback so all fair.

Have purchased several times now, this round we were a little disappointed with the quality. Found some frame rails broken, notched too far apart causing foundation to be loose, and missing a couple side arms. The boxes dove tails were hit and miss for alignment and fitment, some box panels were split, and 2 bottom boards were not salvagable due to being broken either during transit or assembly. Ended up scrapping out a total of 2 deep boxes, 4 frames, and 2 bottom boards. With all defects and added work, broke even when compared to purchasing materials and manufacturing myself.

lot of construction required, takes a bit of time, but the quality is there and worth the effort, looks great.

This is my 8th year beekeeping. Never bought a package that the frames didn’t match up. The frame pieces do not match up and require either additional cutting or heavy sanding to put together. Otherwise, it’s a good set, reasonably priced, love the observation windows even tho the girls do not, waxed well.
