After years of researching and thinking I had to purchase a full blown belt grinder in order to fulfill my ambitions as a amateur knife maker I finally decided for this small VEVOR 1x30. It arrived in a very well sealed and protecting package and installation was as simple, as shown in a myriad of YouTube videos I had been studying online. It seems that earlier items had some quirks involving the tensioning wheel, tracking when switching direction which apparently forced people to follow a course in computer programming!? It must have been my unusual gift for fortune but none of these mishaps happened: the tensioning wheel was chamfered, tracking is flawless in both directions, every nut and bolt appeared tight and reversing is a simple matter of stopping the machine, pushing the orange S button on the control unit for 2 seconds until a red dot appears in the lower right corner of the screen and presto! I must confess the latter procedure I stumbled upon in one of the videos on YouTube and is not mentioned in the documentation at all, as is any information concerning the four buttons. Hopefully in an upgraded manual there will be some more info about the control unit (which originally seems to be designed for a sowing machine , so what!). And last but not least the motor is remarkably strong and silent, making it easy to grind away even thick metal sheet. In short: a bargain for anyone looking for a very affordable, compact, very strong and easy to use belt grinder!

This is the second VEVOR 1x30 sander I bought. These are an amazing unit for the money. I have 2 side by side that I primarily use for sharpening knives.

It is a nice tool. (Un) Fortunately the support plates in front are stainless steel. So of you want to sharpen drill bits with a magnetic tool like Weldinger,you need to build your own.

Ottima levigatrice per rifiniture, anzi direi magnifica e pratica, servizio clienti impeccabile, non ha esitato a rispondermi per qualsiasi necessità.

Meine Erwartung wurde voll erfüllt. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist hochwertig und der Zusammenbau des Bandschleifers kann auch ohne Bedienungsanleitung bewerkstelligt werden. Dem Paket liegt eine Bedienungsanleitung in englischer Sprache bei, in Deutsch kann sie im Vevor Shop heruntergeladen werden. Einzig die Bedienungsanleitung des Spannungswandlers vermisse ich, um Progammierungen vornehmen zu können. Da helfen nur Tutorials auf YouTube weiter. Wie auf meinem Foto zu sehen ist, habe ich mir noch einen kleinen Trichter zur Schleifstaubabsaugung mit dem Staubsauger gebastelt. Es wäre schön, wenn Vevor noch etwas ähnliches dem Bandschleifer beilegen würde. Fazit: Für diesen günstigen Preis wird man kaum ein gleichwertiges Gerät auf dem Markt finden und ich kann es guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen.

This little grinder has been getting abused by me for months now and it takes it like a champ. Definitely a nice grinder until I can afford a 2x72

This is an incredible piece of equipment for the money. While it's not a 2x72 belt grinder, it's also 3-5 times less expensive and takes up considerably less room. For the the home hobbyist, or maybe beginning knifemaker or fabricator that doesn't want to invest the time or space required for a 2x72, there aren't a lot of options. This is replacing my old Delta 1x30 grinder, so I already have a collection of belts. However, you really can't compare the Vevor 1x30 to the Delta, or that old style of belt grinders. The Vevor seems to be built from the ground-up as a mini 2x72 grinder. Tilting head to be able to grind horizontal, quick change belts, and a VFD for truly adjustable speed from very low, to incredibly fast. The DC motor has plenty of torque and it won't stall like the old style 1x30 grinders like my Delta. So far I've ground some aluminum, steel, and some small wood projects and this has worked without issue. This needs to be mounted or secured for use. I mounted it to a 3/4" plywood base, and drilled a couple of holes to hold the small table and the large contact wheel, but I may change that design and build a small drawer under the base; A large piece of MDF might be better as it has a bit more weight. Vevor includes a few nice touches, such as the toolless lever to adjust the tool post, and another on the platen plate. However, everything else is a hex-bolt, so you need to keep hex wrench handy. I chose to add wing-head bolts instead, they were not that expensive, and are relatively esey to tighten by hand as-needed (see photos). The other thing I did was add a thin strip of bike rim tape to the drive wheel. It's completely flat, no crown at all; and while my unit tracked fine, I think it works just a bit better with the added tape on the drivewheel. I tried using the belt guard on the top, but it made belt changes rather difficult; so I've removed it and likely will just leave it off. I only have a few hours on this so-far, but for my diy home-hobby workshop, it's a definite winner. Being able to store this on a shelf when not in use, and having all the power I need for small projects is easily worth the price for this belt grinder.

The box it came in was really banged up- the motor was banged up pretty bad with paint chipped off. Will include pictures. I can’t really review the use or quality because we have t used it yet
