Works well for spreading compost. I also filled it with boulders once to press limestone for paver base and it held up well. Definitely worth the money!

I recently got my hands on the VEVOR Compost Spreader, the 24" wide model with the T-shaped handle and adjustable height settings, and I’ve been putting it to work spreading a compost and peat moss mix in my yard. Here’s my take on it. Overall, this spreader does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I loaded it up with my compost/peat mix, and it spread the material evenly across my lawn without any fuss. It feels sturdy enough to handle the job, and the roller design makes it easy to push along, even over slightly uneven ground. I’m prepping my yard for zoysia sod, and this tool helped get a nice, consistent layer down, which is critical for setting up a good base. The assembly instructions were decent, clear enough to follow without much head scratching. That said, if you’ve never put together a multipiece tool like this before, it might feel a bit tricky. My advice? Don’t tighten the barrel section screws too much, actually keep them slightly loose, until you’ve got all the pieces attached. This will help prevent some bulging and misaligned screw holes. Leaving it a bit loose until everything’s in place makes it way easier to get a snug fit. The adjustable height feature is a nice touch, I'm 6'2" especially since I’m working on a yard with a slight slope. It let me tweak the handle to a comfortable level for pushing without straining my back. The T-shaped handle itself is solid and gives you good control, which I appreciated when navigating around my mailbox and future garden bed. It’s not perfect, nothing is, but for a heavy-duty compost spreader, it gets the job done without breaking the bank.

The screen clogs unless everything is very dry

I bought this compost roller for a lawn renovation to roll out mushroom compost. Peat moss is expensive and depleting our bogs so stop using that. This is typical Chinese quality, it’ll work for a few uses and then begin to fall apart. The latches are in the side but I hit a rock and bent one. They’re easy to bend back but that just shows the poor quality material and brittleness. The hatch is nice but it’s not a latched on hatch, there’s metal prongs that slip into cut outs to keep it secured in the non latch side. So everytime you need to fill it you basically have to take it off. That takes like 30 seconds but it’s just annoying when you’re rolling 6000 sqft. It worked decent for mushrooms soil. The issue I found was that some of the chunks of soil were too big to fit through the slits but that s just how compost is. Overall this was better than hand spreading. It laid a nice even surface. I would recommend it to a diy’er

Works well with sand, compost, and dirt. This particular size is good for a smaller yard since the hopper is on the small side but it lays down the material very well.

Product as advertised, the distribution holes are a little large which means more frequent refills. The product is well made and the assembly was very convenient and simple.
