This seems to be a quality build product. Easy to use but read the manual to get the most from the settings available to you. The twin laser dots makes it very easy to target you area you are trying to measure. Fairly fast response to arrive at the temperature it senses. Display nice and bright but in strong sunlight a little hard to see but it holds temperature readings to give you time to shade with your hand to read the value. Very comfortable in my hand and the weight is almost negligible. The holster provided has loop for your belt for convenient carrying. The high temp range is perfect for my application to measure my blacksmith’s forge. The probe while limited in the temp range compared to the gun but still useful for around the barbecue. All in all I’m very pleased with the quality and price point for this instrument. I hope it’s lasts me a long time.

Unit did not work upon arrival. I thought maybe I didn't understand how to use it, so I used the VEVOR chat. I explained my issue and I was told someone would get back to me in 1-2 days. Here's my issue. When I point the gun the two dots are too far apart: * At 6 inches: The dots are 1.5 inches apart. * At 6 feet (72 inches): The dots widen to 4 inches apart. I didn't want to wait two days so I did an AI query and Gemini confirmed the unit was not right. Your unit is physically misaligned or defective. Given your measurements, your lasers are actually diverging (spreading outward) instead of converging or staying tightly parallel to the infrared sensor's path: For a 50:1 Distance-Vevor GT1200, the actual infrared cone of measurement is supposed to be incredibly narrow: * At 6 inches away, the real area being measured is supposed to be a tiny circle only 0.12 inches wide. * At 6 feet away, the real area being measured is supposed to be only 1.44 inches wide. Because your lasers are spanning 4 inches wide at 6 feet, the red dots are pointing far outside of the actual zone the thermometer is reading. The internal laser diodes were likely knocked out of their precise alignment brackets during shipping or manufacturing.
