I got this rack for my Toyota Prius. The construction of the rack itself is sturdy. But if you want install and remove it often, the release mechanism is not easy to get to. Be also advised that the side clip by themselves are not very sturdy: the doors must closed to really lock them in place. Overall not a bad purchase for the price. Just be aware of the shortcomings.

I've bought those cross bars on Vevor.ca. They fit well on a VW Taos 2026 and are sturdy enough to carry two 3/4" sheets of plywood together with some 2x4 lumber. They are easy enough to install and are a good fit for the roof rails. However, they do whistle like a groundhog on steroids.. Driving with any window down is unbearable to me, so I took them off the vehicle. The whistling is mostly due to the open channel on the bottom of the bars. I had to spend more money purchasing a rubber seal strip which fits into the bottom channell. It's better now but this should have been included or pointed out in the product description online and not just in the manual you receive with the product.

This fit the factory rails well, but after installing 2 of the end caps, the 3rd split, then the 4th installed properly. I had to cover that end with black electrical tape to prevent whistling. When removing after my first trip, during which I encountered 3 days with rain, one of the threaded clamps stripped as I tried to loosen it to remove the cross bars. This rack is definitely a lightweight, but I gave it a 3 star rating because only 2 out of 14 parts failed on my initial use. I will try to file a request for replacement parts and report later on that process.

Crossbars seem adequate and shipping was quick. However, when parts were missing upon opening the undamaged box, it wasn't usable. Trying to get this problem taken care of proved more time consuming than I cared to put into a item of this value. I plan to return and purchase a different brand.

It doesn’t fit on my Jetta vw , it’s to big for mine so it’s not universal for every car and I can’t return it
