I bought this version of the 3 positioners for one reason. It will run slow enough to allow both Mig and Tig welding operations. The others, as others have said are OK for Mig but too quick for Tig. This model has a different motor/gearbox arrangement than the other 2. Testing today showed the gearing is slower than the specs say. My testing over 1 minute duration, with the adjuster knob just above zero and the time on 1 minute showed the turn table had only rotated approximately 0.2 RPM measured at the Platten edge. I have tested the mig function by welding together pie cut sections in to a 90 degree bend. This required rotation for 47 seconds to complete the weld on 32mm ERW tubing. Testing for Tig use is ongoing, but for the same size tubing. 38 X 1.6 wall. My initial estimate of rotation speed is 1 min and 10 seconds for one rotation. Easily within reach as the adjuster is only about 1/3 open.. The unit was delivered within the timeline and was well packaged. Assembly was easy. To be constructively critical, the mig stand is a blessing but really needs some more substantial tightening arrangements The wingnuts are too small to lock things in place. Having said that, the price whilst a significant jump from the 30kg version, does include this amazing adjustable arm wrest/mig attachment. Get the setup right and you almost have a robotic welder. I am thoroughly impressed with this product, representing great value for money. I did have a small issue with one of the relays in the control box. Vevor we're all over the issue and had a resolution in a few days. A replacement relay is on its way. After sales service is the best I have been involved with. Well done. For the doubters, I bought this myself, I get no kick back from vevor. I am a retired maintenance worker from the oil and gas industry. Just trying to learn Mig/Tig as a hobby. Trying to manufacture exhausts in stainless steel.

Put to use and was really easy to use and improved the weld control. So much so we bought 2 x 50kg units recently as well.

My only complaint is on the packaging. It's not well protected and you can expect at least some minor damage. Mine had the legs tweaked a little and I had to do some work on it to fix it. Also one of the bushings on the acme threaded crank was broken and came out of the housing. I made another one. I had to adjust the hand crank engagement by opening up some holes. No big deal. After a couple of hours of work it was very close to perfect. For the price, no regrets. I recommend it, just be aware it might not be perfect when you get it.

Speed is too high for welding tubes 2.5" or less

I got the 10kg rated positioner, that's probably an accurate estimation of it's capacity. However, it has 2 main problems. Firstly, it's almost unusable with the gear ratio provided, it spins far too fast unless you're welding pencils or something. Luckily, that's a $15 fix by purchasing a 15rpm gearmotor and throwing away the 88rpm one that comes with the unit. Secondly, the chuck is very underrated for this positioner. It's more than a $15 fix, but I had a 5" chuck from an old lathe that I was able to adapt to this, and it suits it much better. So basically, it spins too fast and the chuck is too small. But it's so inexpensive I would still buy it again if I lost this one. One more thing that would be nice is a digital readout on your rpm so you could do repeatable procedures, but not a must-have.

It arrived with a damaged box; it works, but it's dented. I need a replacement and a refund.

I dont think they could make the arm that holds the mig gun couldn't be made any cheaper its all pretty sloppy with little tiny wing nuts that dont hold the arm still they should just make better & charge a little more ,the motor part works fine so far the timer could be a little better & it could go a little slower the speed adjustment is all over the place.
