We bought this t o put in wooden posts and to drill holes g o help plant fruit trees. It has worked well

I bought the machine mid July 2026. It's heavy and rudimentary. Because of the weight, it is difficult to position the unit on top of a 9ft pole to sink it 3ft into the soil. STOP Button is too easy to touch while operating the unit, switching it off unintentionally. It is also not well designed. Will only start and run on full choke; reducing the choke after a 5min warm-up will kill the engine. “Easy Start” did not seem to function on the unit I purchased. Starting the driver needed to happen on the ground, as it is awkward to hold to re-start while on a ladder or elevated platform. HOWEVER, I succeeded in sinking twelve 9ft fence poles (MASTER HALCO from Rona) over three days in Mississauga clay. Mind you, I probed the ground with a 4ft threaded rod chucked into a drill. The post driver will not overcome stones, bricks, and tree roots when pounding in clay; in sandy soil it could be different, but that I do not know. It would appear that a motorized post driver is not available for rent in the GTA and further north to Georgian Bay. I checked the usual tool rental companies (Coopers, etc), only Home Depot in Etobicoke had one for rent when I inquired, but it became unavailable when I wanted it because it was broken; HD was not going to get another one, or so the story goes. US branded post drivers are well in excess of $1,000. Options for sinking piles in heavy clay soil are limited, particularly for fence replacement if one wants to do it as a DIY project. A 50ft six feet high fence, 150 boards, 3 rails, cap, and held up by 12 posts, including all SS screws and the VEVOR Post Driver, has a price tag of about $2,300.00. And I keep the machine for future projects or sell it and recoup some of my outlay. Was it worth it for me to purchase the VEVOR Post Driver, or would I rather be on a 10-foot ladder and hammer away at 9ft steel posts? While not perfect, the unit fits the bill in more ways than one, and I am glad I was able to buy it.

It is pretty heavy but started up really easy. I have driven about 10 posts so far in really hard ground and no problems so far. I would recommend this product, with all of the moving parts I would recommend getting the service agreement.

If I had to do it again I wouldn't buy this unit. Don't get me wrong it is a great unit and works great. But it weighs almost 70 lbs and I'm 80 yrs old, so lifting that up over my head was a bit muck. Again this unit really really does the job, it's just too heavy for an old fart like me.

Pretty decent rammer. Needs a short break in stretch to get full power. Definitely need to adjust the speed control occasionally. Don't run it absolutely full out. Back off a little, you get better results. This rammer is no joke. Heavy. You all better hang on tight to it Need good upper body strength to control it to keep it centered. Only used it on T posts so far, solid results driving 90 posts so far.

Starts every time, good on fuel and probably as heavy as I'd like to go for this type of machine that sometimes needs lifting above shoulder height. Interchangeable collars are handy although if the star pickets is slightly larger the opening is so precisely cut that a slight dimensional change in the head of the picket won't let it fit. Great for soft ground. Won't push through small rocks and shale though. Needed to go back to the manual version to get through the rocky area.

Nice little pounder. Bought it because it has a 4-stroke motor (I don't like 2-stroke motors and the extra maintenance of having to mix oil w/gas and draining the fuel out of the unit and lines before putting into extended storage). Starts right up first pull every time. Be sure to use 100% gasoline (no 10% ethanol blend fuel). This one is a little low on power (compared to the JH-95 2-stroke unit) but is ok for most soils as long as you don't have a lot of rock. If you have rock in your soil, go for the JH-95 unit - it has about 45% more pounding force and is quite a bit heavier. Overall, I like this lighter weight 4-stroke unit but should have purchased the JH-95 as I have a lot of rocky soil here in Oklahoma and the JH-65 has a difficult time getting through the rocks. The included carrying case is definitely a plus!

Nice unit starts easy,works well, but main bolts holding unit together needed to be removed,cleaned and re tightened with lock tight

It is a lifesaver, especially if you're doing it manually
