It definitely makes a difference in the heat and effectively cools room over time, though feels coolest closer to the unit you are. Venting tube is a bit fiddly but that is not specific to this model. Doesnt have a timed daily timer, though does have delayed start feature and countdown timer. For the price it does a good job, but you will need to buy a cheap window venting kit if not using in sliding door or sash window as it doesnt come with the soft window attachment for typical irish windows. Also note it came with a 2 pin plug so i had to source a three pin adaptor. These untits slide well from room to room but are quite heavy so would not recommend hauling up and down stairs on the regular. Cannot comment yet on efficiency or running cost as have not had first bill yet.

Comparing to other brands I can say this has quite good quality, cooles so fast, a bit noisy that is normal. I recommend it

The unit is well made and it does cool the room. Having said that, however, I'm not completely happy with either the unit or the information that I received about it from Vevor. Specifically, the fan in the unit does not run continuously in cooling mode (i.e., the fan runs even when the compressor is not running). This was an important feature to me because the room is ≈ 230 sq. ft. and circulation is a requirement to maintain cooling even in the hot spots within the room. I couldn't find the information I was looking for within the copy of the user manual I downloaded, so I asked a question on the product page and received an answer "from Vevor" which said the fan does run after the compressor shuts off. I bought the unit based on that incorrect information. The fan runs only for a very short time after the compressor stops before it stops as well. Since I wasn't thrilled with basing my purchase on the incorrect answer I'd received, I then posted an answer to my own question detailing the fact that the Vevor answer was incorrect, so that it might prevent someone else from making the same mistake. When I received the request for this review I checked the product page again, only to discover that my original question and both answers have been removed — there were (according to the page) zero questions asked about the product. I can understand not including the information in the manual. I can understand someone making a mistake in answering a product question. What I can't understand is eliminating the question rather than correcting the answer. That does no service to potential customers. One other item: The temperature displays on the front and the top of the unit are bright enough to function as a nightlight when used in a bedroom. Since I prefer to sleep without a nightlight, I had to purchase tinted static cling patches for both of them in order to be able to sleep and still read the displays. Some sort of display brightness control would be enormously helpful.

Not installed yet because the window slider is not long enough to fit in the window so I need to find a handyman to figure a way to install it properly. The screws to secure the slide were not in the packaging. Also, I would suggest you should include the drainage hose in the packaging. Suggestion: please advise the transport company to make sure this article is not left upside down on the customer's balcony because of the cooling gas in the unit.
